speciality coffee roasted on the rame

We offer a range of coffees allowing you the opportunity to enjoy new coffees to suit various brewing methods and taste preferences. Roasting in small batches allows us to meet the demands of sampling and quality checks to confirm we are roasting every batch to perfection. Norbil Perez - Finca La Chirimoya

Peru

Washed/extended fermentation

Yellow bourbon

Rum & Raisin and Blood Orange

Norbil Perez is one of the founding producers of Aromas del Valle Co-operative. His 4ha Finca 'La Chirimoya' is situated at the exceptional altitude of 2,250masl in the community of Santa Teresa, Sector El Campo, Callayuc. Norbil is a very active member of the organisation, with an abundance of curiosity and drive. He is always participating in the trainings and workshops on productivity, quality and experimentation of new fermentation and drying processes.

Norbil Perez is a very quality-conscious and diligent producer with an appetite to improve every season. This extended fermentation washed lot is selectively harvested by hand. Ripe cherries are floated to further select the densest (highest quality) cherries for processing. The cherries are then fermented for 50 hours, pulped, fermented again for 42 hours, and then washed and dried on raised African beds. Drying takes an average of 17-18 days.

The Aromas del Valle co-operative have been providing training on fermentation in recent seasons as a way to increase cup complexity and the value added to farmers' coffee.

small batch & expertly roasted

At Lars & Margo, our coffee tastes great because our farmers genuinely care for their plants and equally their environment.

Following that we give the beans plenty of attention at the Lars & Margo Roasteryβ€”we roast by hand, keeping things light to medium so the real flavours in every bean can shine through. The end result? A seriously great cup of coffee.

We source our green beans, through various UK based green bean merchants, who partner with farmers around the entirety of the coffee belt. Lars & Margo then choose beans not just for their origin, varietal, process or tasting profile, but to ensure fair pay to farmers, fresh ideas are supported and there is a drive towards inclusivity and gender equality with further support going to local communities.

As a family business, we enjoy meeting new faces and share what we do. If you’re in Cornwall you wont have to travel far to find a local spot serving or stocking our freshly roasted beans, so a great cup of coffee is never far away.

We take our time with every batchβ€”hand roasting the beans and packing them up with care.

Upcoming events

When they happen we’ll let you know but for now it’s gas on, let’s fire up β€˜Genevieve’. Of course you are welcome to visit but we are a working environment with elements of dust and noise…maybe we could tempt you to a flat white or filter + some beans at the same time!

refill

Passing by or living locally on the Rame Peninsula? Why not swing by our Roastery? Simply, grab a bag or two or bring your own container and if you don’t have a grinder at home we will grind the beans for you there and then.
